Carambar. Story of the most famous French candy

Carambar. Story of the most famous French candy

Among so many French sweets that praise their status as the most popular sweet in France, Carambar, the one and only cacao caramel candy wrapped in yellow paper with red letters saying CARAMBAR, is most certainly one of them—the most popular that almost everyone knows.

It might be that the candy invented in 1954 is so famous because of its taste, where, in the beginning, legend liked to state that the result of caramel with an addiction to cacao was due to the malfunctioning of the machine. Today, it is said to be only a legend. It may be because of its shape - length of 7 cm and the exact 10 g measure per candy. Or the joke hidden inside of every paper the candy is wrapped in. But, I do believe most of its fame is the sum of the previous. And, most certainly, the other tastes available in the range (from lemon to strawberry and other fruits). Yet, a true Carambar lover will tell you there is nothing like the original - caramel with cacao. The world is still sound as long as that one is available, providing the best memories of childhood's sweetest moments.
