Fleisch. Copenhagen
Fleisch with the historic white tiles, furnishings almost identical to the original and some new furniture thrown in the mix have really brought a true air of Meatpacking District, from the interior to the meat dishes (don’t panic, there are vegetarian options as well). One of the three spots in the city where you can get biodynamically bred pork, and then of course aged beef and dishes made according to the “nose to tail” philosophy. Try the local drinks, homemade sausages and smørrebrød (the same finest ever you’d find at Hallernes Smørrebrød, as the owner of these two places is the same). Here pleasure starts the moment you step into Fleisch – do try one of their special cocktails, made with lard-infused gin or bacon bourbon – and continues with smørrebrød for starters and a main to follow. Which one? Give them all a try, because everything here is utterly delicious. Really, everything. Address: Slagterboderne 7, Copenhagen; www.fleisch.dk/en
