Tuscany. Bolgheri

Tuscany. Bolgheri

With its one way street and way too many tourists, Bolgheri is still a great place to visit and more often than you would think, as it has one very local and special place where the line never ends – Gelateria Bolgheri ti Amo (Largo Nonna Lucia 1). Try to eat all that is in season such as melon, peach, or yellow plum sorbet, but for a deeper taste and richer feeling, there’s lots of “killing me softly” gelatos – Borgheri ti amo, pistachio, hazelnut, or dark chocolate are our favorites. Bolgheri is also great if you are looking for some nice home decor, plates, or gifts. I get mine every year at these two spots - 52 weeks (via S Guido 6) and Villa Toscana (Via Vittorio Emanuele 41). And just 15 minutes away inn the most expensive wine alley in the region, there’s a very new, very hipster, and very vegetarian place called Bolgheri green (loc. magazzino n 210, 57022 Castagneto Carducci) where veggies and cheese are treated like royalty. Great wine as well as beer is part of that.
