Paris. Coffee shops

I love french chic and traditional bistros, but when it comes to coffee, I like it is made perfect, and that is where these cafes step in.

Partisan

If Matamata and Hexagon are my newly found favorites, then Partisan is a place I have loved since I visited it back in 2019. Located at 36 rue de Turbigo, this place is outstanding in every way - interior, large windows, spacy counter, d’Alpha Dominche machine, and coffee. Their coffee is truly beautiful, nuanced, selected, and perfectly prepared. And to go with it, do try their pastries, that are not French, yet delicious.

Cuppa - Salon de Café

The little sister of saint Pearl, this place is all about what Saint Pearl is, except that the interior is a bit different, as is the location (just behind Musee d'Orsay). Tempting for breakfast waffles and divine cookies.

Kitsune

The true heart and soul, the gem of Palais Royal is Kitsune. Not as old as the place it is located, it is a spot where locals like to order their coffee to drink while reading a book or chatting with friends in the park. And it is not only because it is convenient and located in one of the most stunning yards in Paris. No. It is because Kitsune is a small gem amongst all the coffee places in Paris. Small in size, but grand in what they do. Cappuccino, matcha latte, chai latte, and espresso are all made in the right size, temperature, silkiness, and sweetness. And that babka with hazelnuts and chocolate. Do try it.

Hexagon

Hidden in the 14th arr., it is a perfect Sunday stop coming back from Puces des Vanves antique market. It is a quiet neighborhood on Sundays – only locals stop to grab a coffee after a long bike ride or late evening party; others enjoy silence here while reading a book. The menu is not big, yet perfectly suited to enjoy beautiful coffee at its best because Hexagon's obsession is to get coffee through Direct Trade or Fairtrade, offering beans from all over the world. When served, the coffee comes with a short explanation about its origin — pure, simple, honest, and beautifully prepared coffee.

Boot cafe

Working only on weekends, this cafe serves spectacular espresso, Chemex, and cappuccino. Served alone or together with pastries. With only two tables, it is a place where, especially in summer, people enjoy their coffee outside, in front of the large windows. Magical place.

Address: 19 Rue du Pont aux Choux, 75003 Paris, France

Saint Pearl

Saint Pearl is perfect for many things, especially for a cup of foamy matcha and chai latte with just the right sweetness and silkiness and a perfectly brewed cup of espresso and whipped cappuccino. And do try some of their staple foods, as they are much loved here.

Address: 38 Rue des Saints-Pères, 75007 Paris, France

Dose

If you plan to visit Batignolles, then be sure to visit Dose. If you visit on weekdays, it's simple as it is not too crowded, but this changes on weekends, with long lines and an amazing atmosphere. If you are a weekend visitor and a very picky cappuccino drinker, do go for espresso, and you will be rewarded; leave cappuccino for weekdays when the lines are shorter, and the barista is more careful to serve you that silky cup of coffee. Espresso is always exceptional as is the food and other beverages.
