Bordeaux

Bordeaux

Bordeaux, with all of the glory that seems to be the same as before (we have been visiting Bordeaux for 11 years), was so different this year. Maybe because our fantastic guide, Bruno, told us all the stories, maybe because it is finally possible to have good specialty coffee there, maybe because there are new bakeries in town. I don't know. But it has changed from just a place where we think about wine and architecture to a place where there is so much more. There is, of course, still my most favorite cheese shop in the world – that is the place where you eat canneles and walk for hours, but it has the world famous vibe of another life that is hidden somewhere, more quite and peaceful.

Scroll down for some nice place suggestions.

  • For the greatest cheese selection, visit Jean d'Alos on 4 Rue Montesquieu
  • For fantastic canneles (thank you, Bruno) visit Le Boulanger de l'Hôtel de Ville on 76 Rue des Trois-Conils
  • For great specialty coffee, head to L'Alchimiste on 12 Rue de la Vieille Tour
